Creating Product Launch assets (Brand Film and Designer Q&A) for the collaboration collection, Forma, between Lo & Co and Smac Studio.
Objective
The objective of this project was to present the Forma collection as a considered design statement rather than a catalogue of handles and pulls. Lo & Co and Smac Studio wanted Forma to feel sculptural, tactile and carefully composed, so our job was to create a hero film and supporting content that could live across web, social and launch materials.
Problems
The main challenge was that hardware is small and can easily be overshadowed. At the same time, the collaboration between Lo & Co and Smac Studio is a key part of the story, so the content had to balance product focus with a sense of shared design authorship. The collection also has a very refined aesthetic, which meant the cinematography, lighting and pacing all needed to echo that.
Process
With the help of Hygge Studio and the Lo & Co Team, we approached the shoot as if we were building a gallery space for Forma. We mapped out a visual narrative that moved between two core ideas. The first was the gallery of objects, where the collection is treated as a series of sculptural forms. The second was the way individual pieces live in space, where hardware is shown in context but still feels like the hero.
Outcomes
The final piece positions Forma as a thoughtfully curated hardware collection that could sit comfortably in a design gallery as much as in a home or studio. The hero brand film introduces the collaboration between Lo & Co and Smac Studio, then guides the viewer through the gallery of objects and the secondary video discusses the inspirations and story of the collection with the designers.
